Job Summary

The anticipated duration of this temporary assignment is approximately 2 months.

Engage in extensive in vivo studies of next generation T cell therapies for solid tumors (e.g. leiomyosarcoma and osteosarcoma). These studies will include tail vein injections of engineered T cells and subcutaneous injections of tumor cells into NSG mice or immuncompetent mice (syngeneic mouse tumor models). For all studies, tumor growth will be assessed via bioluminescence or caliper. T cells and tumor cells will also be collected from peripheral blood, tissue, and tumor samples to analyze cell numbers and phenotyping will be performed via flow cytometry and next-generation sequencing.

  • Engineered CAR T cell culture
  • Tumor cell culture
  • Subcutaneous tumor cell injections
  • Tail vein (i.v.) injections of T cells
  • Tumor growth measurements (bioluminescence or caliper)
  • Collection of T cells and tumor cells from mouse blood, tissues, and tumors
  • Presentation of results to the laboratory and weekly meetings

Department Description

UCSF's Temporary Employment Program (TEP) recruits and hires temporary employees for immediate clerical and technical support services to UCSF Departments and various off-campus locations. UCSF departments deploy temporary employees to work on special projects, fill in for regular employees who are on vacation or leave, or to temporarily fill a vacant position during recruitment. Frequently temporary employees become successful candidates for career and limited appointment positions.
