A Brief Overview
The Manager, Brand & Reputation, working closely with the Sr. Director of Brand Communications, designs and delivers an enterprise master brand strategy for Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, inclusive of crisis and issues management communications.

This role employs strategies to protect the reputation of CHOP, keeping a keen eye on social and traditional media insights, audience experience metrics, and leadership guidance to inform messaging and approach.

In addition, this role works with the broader Brand Communications team to elevate the CHOP narrative through master message development and planning and executing initiatives for key influencer audiences.

The Manager, Brand & Reputation, will work in close collaboration with Public Relations, Marketing, Digital, Project Management and Creative functions to execute these goals.

What you will do

  • Play a key role in the issues management process by delivering timely and agile communications support, including social media monitoring and tracking, standby statement writing, internal stakeholder awareness, and collaboration with Emergency Preparedness and other teams. When necessary develop crisis/issues communications trainings and drills to ensure reputational readiness.
  • Develop playbook to outline top risks, responses, internal stakeholder approvers, and, working with the PR, Digital, and Consumer Insights teams, develop corresponding metrics to track reputational profile.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofing skills for content across vehicles for community members, government officials and donors-including press releases, social media, website, blog content, case studies, and other needs as identified.
  • Collaborate with broader Marketing/PR team, as well as external agencies, on growing local and national reputation by developing audience strategy and packaging brand-level, compelling stories for social, paid and traditional media. Support thought leaders with message development and initiative coordination, ensuring that strategies are data-driven and measured regularly.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with all levels of the enterprise, to consider the big picture and minor details, to distill complex topics, remain agile, responsive, and handle sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality.
  • People management experience a plus, as this function grows and new team members are added

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Communications-related discipline Required
  • Master's Degree Preferred

Experience Qualifications

  • At least ten (10) years Progressive writing, social media, crisis communications experience Required
  • At least three (3) years Healthcare experience Preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and Powerpoint as well as media tools like Sprinkl'r, Meltwater, Cision (Required proficiency)
