How you will make an impact The Senior Director, Information Technology - Enterprise Analytics & Applied Artificial Intelligence provides hands-on leadership of a small transformative team focused on developing Halozyme's strategy for adopting innovative applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across the enterprise, as well as the execution of results-oriented programs focused on advancing strategic data & analytics capabilities. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:
Lead a multi-functional effort to establish Halozyme's comprehensive vision and roadmap for advancing enterprise data architecture, analytics and AI capabilities aligned with strategic corporate objectives. Collaborate with cyber security, legal, and infrastructure teams to refine and/or develop policies and practices that ensure best-in-class data protection, ethical AI use, and regulatory compliance. Develop and implement a project portfolio that aligns with the enterprise roadmap and follows standard methodologies and policies. Provide regular updates to senior management and manage multi-year budget plans. Reinforce Halozyme's data-driven decision-making culture through the advancement of data literacy and access policies that support the growth of responsible and secure self-service analytics capabilities across the enterprise. Plan, operate and manage enterprise-wide data and metadata technology platforms and infrastructure, including the advancement of enterprise-scale analytics and data lake/warehouse solution along with associated data catalog/data quality program. Champion emerging AI technologies and lead forums focused on engaging colleagues to jointly transform impactful innovation opportunities into plans of action across the enterprise.
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field with a minimum of 15 years of experience in data and analytics (a combination of experience and education may be considered) 5 years' experience with Next Gen AI-related roles and a minimum of 7 years in leadership positions. Extensive experience in developing and implementing large-scale solutions that emphasize data, analytics, and innovative applications of machine learning (e.g. GenAI). Experience working with senior business leaders to develop roadmaps for impactful application of AI (e.g. operational efficiencies, new business growth) to align digital strategy with the organization's overall IT and security goals, ensuring that solutions are both innovative and secure. Experience in developing and managing in-house LLM applications, AI-powered intelligent assistance, and AI platforms/tools for data management, analytics, and visualization to support data & analytics teams. Experience building and operating solutions that meet both regulatory (e.g. FDA) and corporate compliance requirements. Experience collaborating with R&D, manufacturing, safety, regulatory, commercial and/or enabling functions within Life Science, Medical Device, Biotech or Pharmaceutical organizations and Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and Enterprise Architecture teams to deploy scalable and secure AI solutions. Strong understanding of modern data stack and cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and their data services. Vendor management experience including vendor due diligence, contracting, and performance management, fostering partnerships and contracts which result in competitive investment for clients and improve the efficiency of vendor performance. Strong leadership and decision-making skills with ability to develop positive coaching/mentoring relationships with matrixed team members.

The most likely base pay range for this position is $206K - $309K per year. Several factors, such as experience, tenure, skills, and particular business needs, will determine an individual's exact level of compensation. Base salary is only one element of employee compensation at Halozyme. Total compensation could include bonuses, sales incentives, and equity awards.
