Job Title: R&D Test Technician
Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented R&D Test Technician to support mechanical and electrical testing of medical products, including leads and catheters. This role involves semi-automated testing, meticulous setup, and accurate data capture. The ideal candidate will have experience operating complex test equipment and the ability to follow protocols precisely.


Key Responsibilities:


  1. Testing & Data Collection:



    • Conduct mechanical and electrical tests, such as:

      • Pull testing, flex testing, torque testing, extension/retraction testing
      • High voltage/current testing
      • X-ray analysis, tensile testing, fatigue testing


    • Follow detailed test protocols and accurately record results.



  2. Equipment Operation & Setup:



    • Operate semi-automated test equipment with meticulous attention to setup requirements.
    • Ensure proper use of microscopes, tensile testers, and electrical measurement systems.



  3. Quality & Compliance:



    • Maintain compliance with all quality system requirements.
    • Follow established protocols to ensure repeatable and accurate results.



  4. Technical Documentation & Reporting:



    • Use Microsoft Word, Excel, and file-sharing systems to document test results.
    • Interpret and follow testing directions independently.




Qualifications:
Must Have:

  • Education: Associate's degree or equivalent experience in a related field (assembler, operator, test technician).
  • Experience:

    • Minimum 1 year of experience in testing, assembly, or operating technical equipment.
    • Familiarity with tensile testers, microscopes, and electrical measurement systems is a plus.
    • Ability to set up, operate, and troubleshoot test equipment.


  • Skills:

    • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise protocols.
    • PC proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel.




Nice to Have:

  • Prior experience in medical device testing.
  • Familiarity with ISO and quality system requirements.
