Overview
As a Technical Sales Trainer, you will spearhead the design and execution of comprehensive training programs, certifications, and competency frameworks to ensure that our technical, sales, and customer-facing teams have the skills they need to exceed their goals. Working closely with our sales teams and stakeholders across business units, you will drive continuous skills development for our teams in the revenue organization. Key responsibilities include delivering our sales hiring and onboarding program, designing and implementing training curriculum, and managing seller skill assessments to identify areas for growth and celebrate achievements.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a strategic sales training plan (virtual and instructor-led) aligned with the company's objectives and sales targets.
- Continuously assess training needs and identify areas for improvement to ensure sales is equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in their roles.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts across functions to translate technical content and deliver engaging course content in a digestible format for sales consumption
- Participate in the sales hiring process, such as interview panels and assessments
- In collaboration with other sales enablement team members, deliver onboarding program for new sellers and manage the instructional design of all training for new hires from pre-hire to full ramp
- Identify training needs and gaps through thorough analysis of sales performance metrics, customer feedback, and market trends.
- Analyze coaching opportunities in sales through assessments and other objective measurement methods
- Create training content based on best practices for adult learning
- Design & Implement strategies for 'just in time' learning
- Manage framework for core sales competencies and tie in training opportunities creating visibility for front line managers
- Organize and schedule trainers and various presenters/stakeholders for relevant workshops
- Stay current on best practices for adult learning, behavior change, and change management
- Synthesize information from multiple sources and draw out most important insights
- Support Learning Management System(s) administration including enrollments, course management, and system structure
- Contributes to the creation of regular program analysis to ensure training metrics are communicated and quarterly goals are met
- Champion our Sales Enablement Mission to provide the sales organization with outstanding onboarding, training, knowledge & coaching so they can exceed quota, delight buyers, enjoy their work, and contribute to TierPoint's bookings growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, with an advanced degree welcomed.
- At least 5 years of experience in sales, sales operations, sales enablement, learning and development, education, or a related field.
- Preferred experience working within technology, particularly in a B2B sales environment.
- Skilled in designing and delivering training on complex products or subjects.
- Strong understanding of curriculum design and adult learning principles.
- Direct experience in field sales or sales management is highly valued.
- Proven success in managing onboarding and training programs for sales teams.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data to support evidence-based business decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and interpersonal abilities.
- Highly organized, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite and other Windows-based applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with content creation and management
- Experience with Sales Enablement Tools, specifically Seismic or Lessonly strongly preferred
- Experience in Adult Learning or Education

Pay Range $60,000.00 - $97,778.29
