How You'll Help Transform Healthcare:

Coordinates, plans, and organizes the clinical activities of the vascular area under the direction of the Manager/Director. Develops clinical staff work schedule and manages patient flow. Facilitates effective open two-way communication and resolution of work site operational issues that support departmental service goals, objectives, benchmarks and targets. Vascular ultrasound: Performs non-invasive peripheral vascular testing to evaluate the hemodynamic of patients arterial, venous and cerebrovascular circulation by utilizing Doppler ultrasound , Plethysmography , Duplex imaging , and sound spectrum analysis according to the policy and procedure manual of the Vascular Lab. Interprets exam results to quantify the extent of patient's disease by utilizing established diagnostic parameters. Compiles preliminary reports to communicate test results to referring physicians by way of Syngo and EMR. Echocardiography: Performs a variety of highly skilled technical procedures to obtain diagnostic information regarding heart function, structure and valves and circulation. If Team lead is an R.N.: Provides procedural sedation, and performs a variety of job responsibilities' related to pharmacological stress procedures, contrast administration, and medication administration as order by Cardiologist, M.D. or ACP.

  • Assesses clinical staffing needs, prepares and maintains work schedule and adjusts as needed in a cost-effective manner. Communicates schedule to staff. Coordinates patients flow throughout the day and provides direction for staff as needed. Reassigns staff if indicated.
  • Contributes to Carilion Clinic's performance improvement activities. Assists manager with identifying, reviewing, and recommending suggestions for performance improvement. Serves as liaison between manager and clinical staff.
  • Assists with providing education activities for staff. Coordinates orientation for new clinical staff.
  • Participates in peer review and provides input to management for performance review process.
  • Monitors performance improvement activities and/or collects data as directed by management. Participates in development of action plans.
  • Observe all safety precautions and standards; train all staff and assure that all clinical staff comply with safety measures; maintain OSHA and MSDS manuals; and assure that all clinical staff complete annual health requirements.
  • Participate in direct patient care delivery as appropriate for the individual certification or licensure.
  • Assist with making calls for referral authorizations for specialists, consultations, and preauthorizations for testing and ancillary services as needed and as applicable to the practice.
  • Perform other tasks necessary to the operation of the practice that may be assigned or requested by the Manager/Director and for which training has been provided.
What We Require:

Education:Graduate of approved School of Ultrasound or equivalent training. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience:Three years' experience in a Clinical setting required. Previous physician office experience preferred.

Licensure, certification, and/or registration:Registered Sonographer with RDCS or RCS credentials.

Other: Good interpersonal, technical skills and flexibility in assignments.
