Description
The Environmental Services Program Director is responsible for the effective direction, management, and operation of the educational, extended campus, sustainability, contract management and process improvement functions of the Environmental Services Department to support maintenance of a clean and safe medical center environment. Partner with the Operations Director EVS to ensure all applicable legal, regulatory , and policy requirements, including JCAHO, state, and federal and local regulations and guidelines (i.e. OSHA, HAZMA T , DOH, EP A) are met. Manages all EVS vendor contracts.
Qualifications
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree Business Management or other health-related field (Required) Minimum Work Experience 5 years Hospital experience (Required) 3 years Acute care hospital management experience (Required) 2 years Project managment experience (Preferred) 2 years Children's hospital experience (Preferred) 2 years Experience in managing and negotiating external contracts. (Required) Required Skills/Knowledge Knowledge of all applicable legal, regulatory, and policy requirements, including JCAHO, state, and federal and local regulations and guidelines (i.e. OSHA, HAZMAT , DOH, EPA). Understanding of infection control requirements as they relate to Environmental Services functions. The ability to present ideas and information in a concise, timely, effective and interpersonally appropriate manner through written and oral form. Ability to concisely organize projects and ensure deliverables are completed in a timely, cost effective manner Excellent public speaking and interpersonal skills. Ability to coach and develop others. Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment. The ability to model continuous professional self-development, resulting in the enhanced performance of the organization. Ability to analyze processes, and identify high quality and cost-effective improvements. The ability to proactively identify and implement effective strategies to enhance the financial performance of the department and the organization. The ability to effectively analyze data resulting in appropriate fiscal, quality , service, and operational objectives. The ability to understand the current health care environment and envision appropriate strategic organizational goals. Align resources to achieve those goals and inspire others to attain them. Patient-centered mindset. The ability to establish effective relationships in networks with both internal and external customers. The ability to attract, recognize, retain, and manage staff. Understanding and sensitivity to managing/supervising union employees, is a must. The ability to use job related computer software applications, including Microsoft Office and bed-board related programs. Significant experience in customer service and/or hospitality environment preferred. Required Licenses and Certifications Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) or Certificate of Mastery in Infection Prevention (CMIP) (Preferred) Functional Accountabilities Leadership
