Job Description:

Ryan Companies US, Inc. has an immediate career opportunity for a Director of Construction Accounting at our Minneapolis headquarters location!

This is a key position for Ryan Companies US, Inc. that will support all financial aspects of our construction line of business. This role reports directly to the Vice President of Finance and Accounting while leading a diverse team of professionals.

This position requires 4 days per week in the office, with 1 day of remote work each week.

Some things you can expect to do:

  • Manage the month-end reporting and projection process via oversight of the Manager of Construction Accounting.

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting of construction contracts on a GAAP basis ensuring Ryan is up to date with changes in accounting standards.

  • Collaborate with the Manager of Construction Accounting to create uniform processes and procedures ensuring accurate reporting and projections.

  • Drive results through creative problem solving of business requests.

  • Establish trusted relationships with construction business leaders to support the growth of the business.

  • Manage the teams responsible for completing profit recognition, insurance reporting, job costing, cash flow, and application support.

  • Partner with FP&A and Operational Excellence on the annual budgeting process for construction and field lines of business.

  • Oversee the preparation of the annual tax schedules relative to the construction line of business.

  • Collaborate with Finance Technology and Operational Excellence to drive unique approaches continuously improve and drive change.

  • Direct the subcontract registration program and ongoing monitoring of strategic subcontractors' financial health including advanced financial statement review.

  • Oversee the Textura system for subcontractors including direct handling of key payments.

  • Champion initiatives related to proper revenue recognition, job cost forecasting, budgeting, etc.

  • Manage overall company lien waiver compliance.

  • Administer the construction travel program in compliance with Ryan policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Partner with internal legal for financial requirements related to insurance and bonding.

  • Support ad hoc reporting and projects as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or finance.

  • 7+ years of related experience.

  • Strong knowledge of construction industry accounting principles.

  • Demonstrated ability to continuously improve and drive change while tackling concurrent projects.

  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills including proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook applications.

  • Proven ability to accurately work under pressure and consistently meet deadlines.

  • Strong mathematical aptitude and analytical skills.

Eligibility:

  • Positions require verification of employment eligibility to work in the U.S.

Compensation:

The annual base pay is $138,600 - $207,900. The base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission and/or an incentive program.
