Contract: 6-month contract to hire

Overview:

We are seeking a talented and motivated UX Designer Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for the overall design, functionality, and user experience of our commercial websites, web pages, and applications.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop internal and external web pages, focusing on layout, user interface graphics, navigation, and multimedia elements (text, graphics, sound, and video).
• Collaborate with web developers to integrate text, graphics, and multimedia content into websites and applications.
• Work with web administrators to implement and deploy web pages and applications into production environments.
• Monitor and optimize web server and site performance to ensure a smooth user experience.
• Perform ongoing maintenance, updates, and usability testing for web pages and applications to maintain high-quality standards.
• Develop and communicate web usage, accessibility, and security policies and standards.
• Assist in the planning of company-wide strategies involving web technologies and digital engagement.
• Provide technical assistance to Site Administrators as needed.
• Occasionally perform limited web programming and coding tasks.
• Contribute to the development of new products and features, ensuring user-centered design approaches.
• Provide recommendations on hardware and software purchases related to web development.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Educational Requirement:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Web Design, Graphic Design, Computer Science), or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

• UX Design Expertise: Proficiency in designing intuitive, user-friendly, and visually appealing web interfaces.
• Proficiency in HTML/CSS/JavaScript: Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with the ability to write clean and maintainable code.
• Experience with API Platform.
• Experience with DevDocs sites.
• Graphic Design Tools: Expertise in graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, ImageReady, GoLive, Flash, and other related tools.
• Interface Design: Knowledge of interface design tools, techniques, and best practices for creating smooth and efficient user experiences.
• Cross-Browser/Platform Compatibility: In-depth knowledge of different operating systems (e.g., Unix, Windows) and browsers (e.g., Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Chrome), ensuring designs work seamlessly across multiple platforms.
• Usability & Testing: Strong understanding of usability testing and performance optimization to ensure excellent user experience.
• Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze design challenges, identify solutions, and adapt to changing requirements.
• Security & Performance Awareness: Awareness of potential security and performance issues affecting web design and user experience.
• Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effectively conveying design concepts and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Project Management: Experience with project management methodologies, ensuring timely delivery of projects while meeting organizational goals.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with responsive and mobile-first web design principles.
• Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress, Joomla, or Drupal.
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
• Familiarity with agile development processes.
