Description

The Department of Radiology and the Center for Innovation in Imaging Biomarkers and Integrated Diagnostics (CIMBID) at Columbia University is seeking highly motivated Associate Research Scientist to join our team. The research focus is on application of deep-learning for automated assessment of brain CT and MRI scans in patients with stroke and brain injury. Our goal is to devise novel tools for diagnosis, outcome prediction, and risk-stratification of patients with cerebrovascular diseases, based on wealth of information extracted from medical images and clinical records.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work in close collaboration with Data Science Institute, and Department of Neurology at Columbia. We are working on a large cohort of multi-institutional multi-national datasets to address some of the most pressing needs in patients who are susceptible to brain injury. Associate Research Scientists are expected to develop and deploy deep neural networks for medical image analysis, utilizing the available datasets. Associate Research Scientists will also oversee and lead graduate students and RAs working in the lab.


Qualifications

Position requires:

* PhD in computer science, electrical engineering, or biomedical engineering

* At least two years of post-doctoral research experience

* Experience with application of CNN for image classification and segmentation - preferably medical images

* Advanced programming experience and analytical skills

* A record of publication and/or conference presentations
