Job Summary As the Sous Chef at Abercrombie & Fitch HQ, you will play a critical role in leading the culinary operations across a complex of three cafes and an extensive on-campus catering program. This position involves managing a diverse team and overseeing the kitchen's daily activities to ensure a high standard of culinary excellence for a campus population of over 2,000. Key Responsibilities: Direct oversight of three cafes and the execution of on-campus catering events, ensuring optimal service delivery. Manage a team of 10-15 hourly associates and 2-4 hourly supervisors, coordinating staff scheduling, ordering, inventory, and merchandising. Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop innovative menus and manage food preparation for both daily meals and special events. Maintain strict adherence to budgetary constraints, labor, and cost of goods sold (COG) goals. Support the expansion of operations during peak retail seasons, moving to a 7-day week schedule in November and December to accommodate increased business volumes. Implement new culinary programs in conjunction with the company's marketing and culinary teams. Preferred Qualifications: Associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent professional experience. Proven experience in high-volume, complex food service operations, with prior roles in kitchen management. Strong background in catering and batch cooking, with a keen eye for culinary trends, quality control, and presentation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with POS systems for effective reporting. ServSafe certification is highly desirable, alongside a commitment to participate in client satisfaction programs and activities.
