Job Title: OSP Telecommunications Technician Lead Location: Los Lunas, NM Pay: $23-28/hr Duration: 6-month contract to hire Job Summary: TEKsystems' client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented OSP Telecommunications Technician Lead to join our team in Los Lunas, NM. The ideal candidate will be responsible for outside plant installation, fiber and telecom installation, and working in construction/structured cable environments. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, good communication, and the ability to work well with others. Key Responsibilities: * Pulling cable, pulling innerduct, dressing cables, labeling, fiber cleaning, etc. to industry and customer standards. * Carry and load materials to be used on the job. * Maintain professional appearance. * Work both outside and inside during summer and winter months. * Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested. * Complete safety training as required by the position. * Wash and clean vehicles and equipment. * File and maintain paperwork as needed. * Complete remedial online safety training. Top Skills: * Outside Plant installation * Fiber and Telecom installation knowledge and experience (Fiber, Cat5, Cat6) * Strong drive to work in construction/structured cable environments Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent. * Good communication skills. * Strong problem-solving ability. * Confined space experience or training. * Positive attitude and ability to work well with others. * Valid driver's license. * Must be willing to submit to pre-employment background and drug screening. Worksite Address: Los Lunas, NM 87031 Work Schedule: * Monday-Friday, 6:00 am to 4:00 pm (Fridays are typically a shortened day) * Overtime is common and occasional Saturday work is required. Workplace Type: On-site Additional Information: The client is working on a large expansion project in Los Lunas. These roles are contract-to-hire and provide on-the-job training. This opportunity allows technicians with 0-5 years of experience to make a competitive wage and potentially join as a full-time employee of a company that values its employees. On contract, technicians can receive overtime and raises as projects expand, with plenty of opportunities for growth. Work Environment: Outside Plant - Data Center expansion. This involves both outside and some inside plant work, with a focus on construction and safe data center practices.
