Must be a DC Resident. Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed evaluations of provider performance and the presence of person-centered supports using applicable tools and guidelines.
- Initiate contact with service providers to schedule interviews, reviews, and discuss protocols, expectations, and responsibilities.
- Conduct interviews with individuals with I/DD, family members, service providers, and/or direct service staff.
- Observe service environments, following professional protocols to gather pertinent information and make decisions for the evaluation process.
- Review required documentation to assess supports and services, gathering relevant data regarding the quality of the person-centered service delivery system.
- Make determinations based on information from Person Centered Reviews (PCR), Provider Discovery Reviews (PDR), and other applicable tools, ensuring all actions meet established proficiency standards.
- Serve as an expert in identifying problems and solutions to ensure quality assurance activities address the needs of individuals with I/DD. Customize approaches based on individual situations and analytical assessment.
- Maintain a positive, respectful approach with individuals, family members, providers, and support coordinators throughout the review process.
- Use professional judgment to determine when abuse, neglect, or exploitation should be reported, or when a referral to state staff is necessary to protect the health and safety of individuals receiving services through the Medicaid Waiver program.
- Act immediately in cases of abuse, neglect, or exploitation, reporting directly to the Abuse Registry following established protocols as a mandated reporter.
- Input data into a web-based application, summarize findings, generate recommendations for quality improvement, and complete written reports for submission to the provider, support coordinator, or other entities within set timeframes.
- Work closely with State Agencies to provide information that facilitates follow-up and technical assistance.
- Provide State Agencies with information at quarterly meetings regarding provider performance, data trends, and opportunities for quality improvement.
- Actively participate in professional development activities, including conference calls, meetings, and annual training events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
