Torch Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer Journeyman located at Maxwell Air Force Base-Gunter Annex in Montgomery, AL, within the AFLCMC/GB Business and Enterprise Systems Directorate (BES), to support the Base Maintenance: Integrated Maintenance Data System Central Database (IMDS CDB), Maintenance Scheduling Application Tool (MSAT), Tool Accountability System (TAS). IMDS CDB is an Air Force (AF) enterprise-level automated maintenance management information system for weapon systems. This system provides wartime readiness and operational support of aircraft, trainers, simulators, communications- electronics, and support equipment maintenance activities at worldwide operating bases, Active-Duty Air Force, Air National Guard (ANG), AF Reserve (AFRC), and Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF). Responsibilities: This position requires a highly motivated individual with experience in systems engineering to include but not limited to the duties below: * Conduct reviews on program portfolio to evaluate and/or recommend alternative plans, improve systems engineering programs/processes, manage/sustain program technical baseline, and design/perform system level tests to assure that subsystems and system performance is achieved in accordance with approved specifications * Provide system/program engineering, technical support and technical training to support programs/initiatives, including but not limited to: acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, continued evolution, deployment/fielding and installation, and operations oversight. * DevSecOps experience to include the use of CAST AIP, Checkmarx, SonarQube, and integration with BES CI/CD pipeline. * Experience developing, deploying and/or maintaining operational cloud environments (e.g., Oracle, AWS, Azure, Google) with an emphasis on federal or DoD systems (GovCloud, Cloud1) * Familiarity with operating and maintaining a web-based logistics and supply system * The Systems Engineer will perform work that applies a broad theoretical and practical knowledge of software engineering, including but not limited to reviewing, preparing, and analyzing all types of documentation and agile tool implementation and configuration. * Documentation and agile tool include planning requirements, design, V&V, support, implementation, and test * This will also include source code repository, configuration files and engineering resolution support * Experience with the Atlassian Tool suite (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket) * Identify, describe, and apply emerging IT acquisition strategies, best practices, IT-related performance measures and quality management in support of acquisition planning, information assurance/cybersecurity, test and evaluation processes, verification and validation processes, and/or, fielding and sustaining of IT/software systems; * Management of Virtual Machines * Conduct reviews on program portfolio to evaluate and/or recommend alternative plans, improve systems engineering programs/processes, manage/sustain program technical baseline, and design/perform system level tests to assure that subsystems and system performance is achieved in accordance with approved specifications; * Perform program reviews to evaluate alternative proposed plans, systems engineering programs, design and test results to assure that subsystem and system performance is achieved in accordance with program specifications; * Prepare technical documentation which defines, specifies, and recommends system/subsystem characteristics; * Prepare management reports and conducts technical presentations for planning, implementation and corrective action using application of engineering principles; * Perform validation of software systems including development of analyses/evaluation criteria and procedures, analyses/evaluation of results, and related recommendations; * Provide Agile and Digital system/program engineering, technical support and technical training to support programs/initiatives including, but not limited to, acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, continued evolution, deployment/fielding and installation, and operations oversight; * Provide engineering support services and inputs to program and project risk management activities in compliance with AF Systems Engineering Assessment Model (SEAM) processes; and, * Perform all (system) engineering according to applicable DOD, AF, AFMC directives, instructions, and manuals, to include, but not be limited to, AFI 63-101, AFMAN 63-144, AFMCI 63-1202, AFMAN 63-128, AFI 99-103 - and their updates, successors (as happens over time).
