Description
Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments, prepares items for shipment, and fulfills driver responsibilities, including making deliveries to customers.
- Safely operate company vehicle to deliver products to customers on time and in excellent condition.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Verify delivery orders and obtain customer signatures to confirm receipt.
- Review and prioritize daily shipping orders when received.
- Pull all parts as indicated on the shipping orders, assemble and other components if necessary.
- If required, call the freight carrier indicated on the shipping order and complete any paperwork that the carrier may require.
- Load and unload trucks as necessary. Inspect containers and material reporting any damage or missing items noticed.
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records.
- Determines method of shipment.
- Affixes shipping labels on packed boxes.
- Assembles cardboard containers or selects pre-assembled containers.
- Inserts items into containers, binds the container with the appropriate tape.
- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, records damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify any shortages.
- Routes items to appropriate location.
- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Operates forklift to move, convey or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; and 6 months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook and Commerce Center.
- Willing to become forklift certified.
- Willing to get Hazard Communication training.
- Must have excellent attention to detail.
- Must have access to reliable transportation.
- Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Pay Range: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
The pay range for this role varies and is commensurate with your skills, abilities, and experience.
