The Role

Mission:

Are you a full-time undergraduate or graduate student majoring in Engineering or Marketing? Are you interested in gaining real-world experience working in a global, international Company? If yes, this internship is for you!

Power Technique North America (a company within the Atlas Copco Group) is seeking an undergraduate or graduate student to join our team during Summer, 2025 as a full-time, PAID intern.

Roles and Responsibilities:

In this position, you will leverage data analytics to support the aftermarket services for Atlas Copco's products. You will report to the Aftermarket Data Science Manager. You will:

  • Assist in analyzing large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can improve service efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Apply statistical methods and machine learning techniques to uncover actionable insights and drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Develop interactive dashboards and visualizations to clearly communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support the development of predictive models to forecast maintenance needs and optimize inventory management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement data-driven solutions that enhance the performance and reliability of aftermarket services.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by performing regular data audits and validation.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in data science and apply them to improve aftermarket processes.
  • Communicate complex data insights in a clear and concise manner to non-technical stakeholders.

What we expect of you?

Experience:

  • Experience gained through a previous relevant internship is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with Excel and/or SAP is a plus.

Education:

  • To qualify for this internship, you should be:
    • a rising junior, senior or graduate student at an accredited college or university
    • with a major in Engineering or Supply Chain/Logistics
    • with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
    • eligible to work within the United States without Company support for work authorization
    • able to provide your own housing for the 10 weeks of the internship program
  • Able to commit to participation in a full-time, 10-week internship program working up to 40 hours per week.

Skills:

  • Enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college, university, or technical/vocational institution.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without company assistance.
  • Majoring in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have excellent attention to detail, be well-organized, and show initiative.
  • Proficient in data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, and Excel.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
  • Basic understanding of machine learning algorithms and their applications.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Show enthusiasm for learning and applying new data science techniques and technologies.

Supervisory Role:

  • This position has no supervisory responsibility.
