Job Details Assists the Manager, Pharmacy Support Services with maintaining all pharmaceutical agents and related supplies.Ensures inventory is sufficient, adequately screened for barcode scanning compliance, and stocked appropriately. Helps to prepare orders for submission to vendors and places orders in the absence of the manager. Assists with the tracking and analysis of purchase patterns and preparation of purchasing reports and summaries. Works independently on the following tasks and duties: *Reviews inventory and par levels of medications and supplies and prepares orders to replenish stock. (ex: Prism requisitions) *Receives wholesaler medications orders, unpacks orders, and verifies contents and compares to invoices *Performs bar code scanning verification before placing medication supplies into inventory *Exhibits working knowledge of all medication names, doses, preparations on hospital formulary and places in inventory according to specific storage requirements. Assists and serves as the back-up for the Manager of Pharmacy Support Services with the following tasks and duties: *Placing wholesaler/direct pharmacy ordering *Reviewing monthly purchases and preparing purchasing data for review by the Director of Pharmacy *Monitors trends for high cost/high volume medications/supplies *Maintaining appropriate documentation under the Drug Supply Chain and Security Act (DSCSA) *Coordination of expired drug inventory storage, disposal/return Job Description Education/Training/Experience: (indicate if required or preferred)
