Responsibilities

Ankeny Family Medicine is seeking a patient-focused RN, LPN or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will play a vital role in assisting healthcare providers with patient care, managing administrative tasks, and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic. If you have a passion for providing excellent care to patients across all age groups, we encourage you to apply and join our Team!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
  • Accurately record patient histories, vital signs, and symptoms in the electronic medical records (EMR) system.
  • Prepare exam rooms by ensuring they are clean, organized, and stocked with necessary medical supplies.
  • Administer medications, injections, and vaccines as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Perform routine lab tests, including blood draws, urinalysis, and other point-of-care testing.
  • Educate patients on preventive care, medication instructions, and follow-up care plans.
  • Assist with scheduling follow-up appointments, managing referrals, and coordinating patient care.
  • Support front desk operations, including patient check-in/check-out and answering phone calls.
  • Adhere to infection control, safety, and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and clinic safety.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other team members to ensure a seamless patient experience.

Qualifications
  • Current RN/LPN Licensure, State of Iowa, or Current National Certification as a Medical Assistant.
  • High school diploma.
  • BLS and Mandatory Reporter certification.
