About the Role

We are looking for a Process Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for operational support with technical knowledge and skills providing both day to day supports as well as develop and lead improvement projects. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide simple solutions to complex issues.

This role is a great opportunity for a self-motivated Engineer to see immediate results in plant efficiency, output and quality improvements as well as project implementation improvements. Reporting to the Process Principal Advisor, you will be:

  • Responsible for daily process support including monitoring, trouble shooting, and optimization
  • Investigate and implement ways to improve product throughput, recovery and quality
  • Identifying gaps between past performance and plans and implementing solutions to close the gaps
  • Reporting of data for process control, production planning, and process optimization
  • Providing technical support to site personnel
  • Fully support the health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs by participating in their implementation, maintenance and enforcement as well as compliance with corporate programs and policies

To succeed in role you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree qualification in a relevant engineering subject (Chemical or Metallurgical)
  • A focus on leading every task with the safest work procedures and consider employee safety the highest priority of the role.
  • 2+ years of engineering experience in a Refinery, Manufacturing, Processing facility.
  • Exceptional communication skills in both leadership and technical details.
  • Knowledge and experience in project management and implementation.
  • Experience in safe equipment operation and troubleshooting of a process.
  • Knowledge of computer based systems such as MS Office, Minitab, OSIsoft Pi.
  • Demonstrated presentation skills.
  • Driver's license

About You

To succeed in this role you would need:
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree qualification in a relevant engineering subject (Chemical or Metallurgical)
Experience: 2+ years of engineering experience in a Refinery, Manufacturing, Processing facility.
Skills: Data Analysis Skills - Excel, Statistical analysis, trending of process variables and correlations etc.
Industry: Ability and desire to work in a heavy industrial environment - Hands on
Computer Skills: Knowledge of computer based systems such as MS Office, Minitab, OSIsoft Pi.
Problem Solving: Effective in Cross functional team with Asset Management and Operations to solve process optimization problems.
Technical expertise: Some control logic or DCS experience is considered an asset.
