Description

This is a hands on position. The Central Construction Coordinator is responsible for working onsite at the construction site directing all phases of construction activity. The Central Construction Coordinator serves as Midco's professional representative when interacting with vendors, customers, and regulatory officials.

Candidates should reside in or around Buffalo, Cambridge, Isanti, Monticello, Princeton, Ramsey, St. Cloud, or St. Joseph, MN.

JOB PURPOSE:

Direct all phases of construction activity. Serve as Midco's professional representative when interacting with vendors, customers, and regulatory officials.

KEY FUNCTIONS:



  • Engage in Construction team efforts to maintain, expand and upgrade Midco's regional network.
  • Schedule and plan all phases of construction projects to meet established goals and deadlines.
  • Monitor progress, quality, safety, and compliance for each project.
  • Collaborate with State, County, City, Townships, and other entities on permit requirements and requests, and attend related meetings, including those with utility companies.
  • Obtain private easements from landowners.
  • Create Project Summaries and ensure projects are closed timely, with all excess materials returned to Materials Management.
  • Create Purchase Orders and Change Orders and issue to contractors.
  • Oversee activities of outside contractors and internal staff related to various construction projects.
  • Inspect work in progress and work completed for compliance and quality assurance. Complete the appropriate paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Read, comprehend, and utilize cable system maps and plans.
  • Assist in preparing site surveys.
  • Prepare asbuilts and update maps accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Locate existing underground cable.
  • Ensure all project documents are complete in their entirety, placed in Compass, and kept current.
  • Complete Construction First Time Right certification within 90 days of hire and consistently apply principles in all aspects of work.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Midco's safety program, enforce safety rules and procedures, wear appropriate safety apparel (including hard hats, safety vests, OSHA approved boots), and operate all equipment safely.
  • Maintain a current, valid driver's license, operate and drive a Company vehicle in accordance with all Midco policies, and maintain a safe driving record (no DUI in the last five years).
  • Follow and serve as a role model in displaying Midco's Core Values and Leadership Success Drivers.
  • Adhere to Midco's privacy guidelines to ensure each customer's privacy.
  • Maintain regular attendance as required by your position.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:



  • High school diploma or GED required. Some college or vocational training preferred.
  • Working knowledge of construction, the National Electrical Code, OSHA regulations, state and local regulations and general safety standards.
  • NCTI, SCTE, or other broadband certification, or previous experience in installing and troubleshooting broadband services is preferred.


Position leveling will be assigned congruent to experience and training.

The hiring range for this position is $26.00-$37.00. This pay range is inclusive of multiple job levels. The actual base pay offered will be determined based on multiple factors including the level of job offered, internal equity, location, and the individual's job-related knowledge, skills and experience. This position is hourly and may be eligible for additional compensation such as overtime and career progression pay increases. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual bonus plan based on company and/or individual performance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



  • The employee may occasionally be required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or carry loads of up to 84 lbs.
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
  • The employee may frequently be exposed to outside weather conditions and may occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, risk of electrical shock, and risk of radiation and vibration.
  • Ability to analyze complex plans, identify potential issues, and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members, vendors, customers, and regulatory officials.
  • Must be prepared to travel on short notice and work extended, flexible hours. Travel may include up to 70% of scheduled hours.
  • Employees may be required to work in excess of 40 hours per week and other than normal business hours, such as holidays, evenings and weekends as business demands.
  • Must be able to climb poles, ladders, and other structures with proper equipment, working within manufacturer's capacity for all equipment.
  • Must be able to work from elevated heights (bucket truck, ariel lifts), and in tight spaces such as attics and crawlspaces.
