The Sr. Universal Banker serves as a single point of contact for customers; identifying customer needs, building customer relationships, and developing and executing sales, service and referrals. This position's multifaceted responsibilities range from accurate cash handling and transactions to product and service sales, and referrals to other lines of business. Required skill sets for success in this position include key product knowledge, relationship building, business development, customer service, and expert referral skills. This position will work closely with our retail, operations, and lending staff members.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with potential and existing clients to drive sales and meet or exceed sales targets, while also fostering loyalty and retention.
- Identifies customer's needs and provides bank products and services as tailored solutions to ensure the customer is informed, fully understands the products and services, and is confident in the bank's offerings.
- Actively promotes and sells retail products and services to meet individual and branch-level sales targets
- Provides accurate cash handling and positive client relations while performing a variety of sales and service functions under minimal supervision.
- Establishes files and records associated with setting up and maintaining personal and business account products and services, including but not limited to online and mobile banking, cash management, payroll, ACH, fraud protection and merchant capture services.
- Provides direction, assists, and trains retail staff
- Assists clients with complex problems or questions regarding their accounts
- Ensures efficiency of branch services operations and adhere to policies and procedures.
- Occasionally travels to different branches to support the retail needs of each branch as requested.
- Attends Branch meetings and scheduled meetings for bank wide participation.
- Participates in community and/or outside sales events to support the branch/market.
- Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
Key Competency Requirements
- Associated degree preferred but not required
- 3-5 years of experience working as a teller or first level universal banker
- Proven experience in retail, with a track record of achieving sales targets.
- Strong knowledge of banking products and services, including deposits, loans, and investment options.
- Demonstrates aptitude for mathematical and/or financial transactions
- Demonstrates ability to execute daily and medium term initiatives under minimal supervision
- Demonstrates strong customer service skills (customer-oriented)
- Demonstrates ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and multi-task daily job duties
- Demonstrates ability to address complex issues and problems
- Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrates strong team collaboration/team work skills, with ability to work in diverse teams and build/maintain positive working relationships
- Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability
- Demonstrates ability to interact efficiently with banking software, as well as utilize common office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and related applications; willingness to learn new technologies
