Senior Financial Analyst

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Financial Planning and Analyst team in Carlsbad, CA! This role provides the opportunity to collaborate on budgeting, forecasting, reporting and develop financial models to support business leaders.

This position supports the Finance organization and the functional areas and will interface heavily with the Finance business area groups and other functional organizations, including the accounting group, to ensure thorough financial management for the functional areas. This role includes a broad scope of work covering all financial aspects of the business including forecasting and reporting to creating financial models to help make business decisions and nearly everything in between. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Support the Operation's management team and Viasat's Corporate Finance organization.
• Monitor, analyze and report actual results against operating plans for expenses, capital, headcount, labor charging, etc
• Perform monthly accounting close process and related reporting for the functional area.
• Tracks financial status by comparing and analyzing plans and forecasts with actual results.
• Improves financial status by analyzing results and variances; identifying trends; recommending actions.
• Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data.
• Increases productivity by developing automated applications; eliminating duplications; coordinating information requirements.
• Provides information to management by assembling and summarizing data; preparing reports; making presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations.

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis or a related role.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting or related field.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and interpersonal communication skills needed.
• Solid time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills, and the ability to work with limited supervision.
• Proven ability to work successfully in a team-based environment.
• Background in Financial ERP systems.
• High energy level, self-starter and results-oriented.
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and Excel.
• US Citizenship is Required.

• Knowledge of GAAP accounting.
• Prior experience using Oracle or SAP.
• CPA or CFA designation is a plus.
