Position Highlights The University of Arizona, Campus Health Service (CHS) seeks a qualified candidate for the position of Medical Assistant. This position is responsible for assisting Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Registered Nurses in the examination and treatment of CHS clients.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Greet and room patients,
    measure height, weight, vital signs, hearing, vision, etc., and record in
    patient's electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Assist medical providers
    with procedures, including but not limited to, giving injections, applying orthopedic devices, obtaining patient samples, etc.
  • Monitor and maintain
    patient flow in assigned areas.
  • Maintain a clean
    environment, cleaning of instruments, universal precautions, infection
    control, etc.
  • Provide patient and CHS
    staff education and counseling.
  • Provide patient teaching as indicated.
  • Answer telephone, taking
    precise messages and information for providers, and routing calls as necessary.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

  • Good communication and orgizational skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • COVID-19 knowledge; testing (Rapid Antigen & PCR), PPE equiptment, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required. In addition to the education and experience minimum qualifications, Clinical certification and/or licensure required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience required.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of Medical Assistant Program.
  • One year of experience working as a Medical Assistant.
  • Urgent Care/Ambulatory health care experience.
