Shape the future of the internet

As an Enterprise Cloud Architect you'll play an integral part in the customer solutioning lifecycle. Being a technology specialist, you'll support customer success teams in defining Akamai Connected Cloud solutions. You'll guide customers through the strategic and technical aspects of their cloud transformation, emphasizing the implementation.

As an Enterprise Cloud Architect, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting cloud compute opportunities as a technology specialist and technical escalation point. Direct customer engagement is required.
  • Driving customer success and continuous consumption of Linode, as extension of the integrated account teams.
  • Decomposing application components and determining how to leverage various open source technologies to achieve logical outcomes.
  • Leading solution and product innovation initiatives. Evangelize use cases/technology trends and influence product roadmap.
  • Facilitating customers builds of service-oriented architecture, web services, and Application Programming Interfaces.
  • Taking disparate business problems and delivering the best technology solutions for large scale applications.
  • Building technical thought-leadership in Cloud Computing to support overall Akamai business growth.
  • Partnering with enablement groups in Akamai Cloud Compute, Security and Delivery to solve enterprise workload challenges.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have 8yrs experience and a Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, another related field or its equivalent
  • Have experience with large-scale, cloud-based applications, including cloud architecture, implementation lead, and strategy
  • Have experience analyzing IT investments and services, ensuring they align with the business needs and strategy
  • Have relevant experience working in a customer facing technical role with a public cloud/cloud software company.
  • Demonstrate experience in architecting complex IaaS solutions for customers.
  • Demonstrate hands-on skills with cloud computing, containers/orchestration, auto-scaling, advanced deployment models, CI/CD with GitOps, and pipeline customization.
  • Experience collaborating with channel partners, systems integrators, and third-party developers to deliver high-impact solutions.
  • Demonstrate hands-on skills in common open source softwares (Kubernetes, Knative, Kafka, RabbitMQ, ELK stack, Redis, Hive, Spark).

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $108,900 - $226,100/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP). Akamai provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, 401K savings plan, company holidays, vacation (in the form of PTO), sick time, family friendly benefits including parental leave and an employee assistance program including a focus on mental and financial wellness; Eligibility requirements apply.
