POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Shop Supervisor, the Lead Technician is thoroughly familiar with the maintenance requirements and inspection program of the related article. The Lead fully understands the procedures of the Repair Station relative to the scope of their normally assigned duties and keeps their assigned crew fully informed of the details of maintenance processes and procedures. The Lead is proficient with the methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used for the work being performed.

Essential Functions Statement(s)



* Communicates professionally with other departments in regards to maintenance-related requirements and objectives.
* Prioritizes, assigns and monitors all work performed by designated crew. Inspects work ensuring that all tasks have been efficiently accomplished while maintaining regulatory and company quality standards and performance.
* Communicates, guides, and oversees assigned crews work, work environment, and the company's maintenance processes and procedures.
* Assures the assigned crew maintains a clean and safe work environment.
* Assures the proper identification, protection, and handling of components and piece parts while in the repair process.
* Ensures all work is accurately documented on Repair Station paperwork and forms.
* Examines components and maintenance records to ensure all maintenance and repairs have been completed.
* Provides on-the-job training (OJT) to assigned technicians and subordinates.
* Assures prompt execution of material requisitions and exchanged core returns to efficiently support maintenance operations and customer expectations.
* Examines and inspects airframes, powerplants, or other articles for discrepancies.
* Disassembles and inspects articles using approved data.
* Assembles and installs electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, structural components and accessories, using hand and power tools.
* Adjusts, aligns, and calibrates aircraft and powerplant systems, using hand tools, gauges, and test equipment.
* Tests airframe and powerplant systems operations using testing equipment.
* Services and maintains aircraft systems by performing tasks, such as cleaning screens, lubricating moving parts, and checking articles for wear, etc.
* Is responsible for tracking and aiding if the processing of assigned units from receiving to shipping.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES



Education:

Associate's Degree (two year college or technical school): Preferred

High School Diploma (or equivalent certification): Required



Experience:

Minimum of 5 years aviation maintenance leadership experience.

Experience with 14 CFR Parts 43 and 145; the RSM/QCM and other associated Repair Station documents and requirements.



Computer Skills: Experience working with maintenance software (i.e. Quantum, Corridor, and/or SAP) and Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes). Strong emphasis on creating spreadsheets, quotes, customer letters, databases, and reports.


Certifications &

Licenses:
Required: Airframe and Powerplant or Repairmen Certification.


Other Requirements: Excellent customer service skills required. Strong experience creating a positive outcome to challenging situations.

Thorough knowledge and understanding of maintenance requirements and inspection procedures and practices.

Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided "reach assistance technology" or "movement assist technology" (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly's, robotics reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job duties.
