Position Title: General Manager

Reports To: Regional Director

Salary: $65,000 to $75,000

Job Summary

Union Square Events General Manager

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all facets of restaurant operations, which include staff management, financial oversight, customer service excellence, inventory control, regulatory compliance, and maintaining the overall quality and profitability of the establishment. This role demands a unique combination of leadership, operational expertise, and exceptional customer service skills. Additionally, the General Manager serves as a brand ambassador and partner at our Shake Shack locations.

**Key Responsibilities: **

**Staff Management: **
- Recruit, train, and supervise a diverse team, including bartenders, cooks, and support staff.
- Create and manage employee schedules to align staffing levels with customer demand.
- Conduct performance evaluations, offer constructive feedback, and address employee issues.
- Enforce disciplinary measures when necessary.

**Financial Oversight: **
- Develop and manage the venue's budget, tracking revenue, cost of goods sold, labor expenses, and other costs.
- Analyze sales trends to uncover opportunities for profitability enhancement.
- Review financial reports to pinpoint areas for improvement.
- Manage inventory of food, beverages, and supplies to reduce waste.

**Operations Management: **
- Ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the Shake Shack while adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Monitor service quality and customer satisfaction levels.
- Address customer complaints promptly and professionally.
- Implement and uphold quality control standards for food and beverage preparation.

**Marketing and Promotions: **
- Create and execute marketing strategies aimed at attracting new customers and promoting special events.
- Collaborate with marketing teams on advertising initiatives.

**Compliance and Regulations: **
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws concerning alcohol service, food safety, and labor practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation for liquor licenses and other necessary permits.

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
- Proven experience in restaurant and bar management, with a successful operational track record.
- Strong leadership and supervisory abilities to effectively motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Excellent customer service skills focused on enhancing guest satisfaction.
- Financial proficiency, including budgeting, cost analysis, and interpreting profit and loss statements.
- Familiarity with POS systems and restaurant management software.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
