Under supervision of the University Honors Program (UHP) Director, with working direction from the Communication & Operations Manager in the Center for Educational Effectiveness (CEE), the Events & Space Coordinator (ESC) will serve as a key member of the UHP/CEE teams to lead, manage, and provide coordination of UHP/CEE events and spaces. Specific focus within UHP events will be on project managing and leading the recruitment events (Aggie Day, Transfer Aggie Day), the Spring Banquet that recognizes graduating students, and the Fall Kick-Off that welcomes incoming students to campus. Specific focus within CEE includes managing the Teaching and Learning Lab in the Teaching and Learning Complex (e.g. access, scheduling, equipment, training) and supporting event coordination (e.g. Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Conference, TA Orientation, quarterly workshops). The ESC actively tracks event engagement and makes strategic recommendations to the UHP/CEE staff based on event/program participation to create and enhance programs consistent with UHP, CEE, and Undergraduate Education mission and strategic plans. The ESC uses independent judgement and strong organizational skills to provide comprehensive coordination of high-quality student and instructional engagement opportunities that enhances the educational experience and sense of belonging within the UHP, CEE, and UC Davis communities. Department Overview This position is part of 10 diverse operational/academic units in UE which are responsible for leadership in sustaining and improving the quality of undergraduate education and line responsibility for operation of 10 operational/campus wide academic units with 50 FTE and associated budgets, namely Academic Advising Enrichment, the Center for Educational Effectiveness, the Center for Leadership Learning, First Year Seminars, Quarter at Aggie Square, Summer Sessions, UC Davis Washington Center, the Undergraduate Research Center, the University Honors Program, and the Writing Center.
