Position Summary The Resource & Activities Navigator assists residents in transforming their lives by planning and organizing activities designed to promote housing stabilization and community integration. The Resource & Activities Navigator will develop and maintain a monthly activities calendar tailored to AES staff and resident's needs. The Resource & Activities Navigator is responsible for providing specialized resources, maintaining inventory of and distributing in-kind gifts, issues clothing vouchers, bus passes. The Resource & Activities Navigator will be supervised and work closely with the Program Coordinator in planning, developing, and evaluating on-site needs to develop activities and linkages to resources. The Resource & Activities Navigator will maintain communication with Operations Coordinator and Facilities staff to discuss coordination of on-site activities. The Resource & Activities Navigator must fully embrace the ministry and mission of The Salvation Army, accept its Christian principles and values, and protect and enhance the image of The Salvation Army to the public. Essential Functions Resident Resources
On-site Activities Develop and lead workshops and groups designed to promote collaboration, being good neighbors, living in shared space. Plan and organize activities designed to engage residents, to include monthly birthday celebrations, holidays, special events, resident interests' activities. Plan and organize staff activities: birthdays, holidays, special events intended to increase morale and build camaraderie. Oversee planning committee schedule agenda and meeting minutes. PAY RATE: $22.00-$24.00/hr. Working Conditions Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax, and telephone. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Minimum Qualifications
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Education
Bachelors of Social Work (preferred)
Experience
Bilingual/Bi-literate English/Spanish preferred. (preferred)
Minimum 1-year experience coordinating activities for large groups with proven outcomes. (required) Minimum 1-year experience working with the homeless providing mental health services, linkages to resources, individual and group therapy, clinical assessment, crisis intervention, referrals. (required) Licenses & Certifications
