Job Summary Acadian Contractors, Inc. is seeking a Quality Coatings Inspector to uphold and enforce our coating quality standards. This role requires an in-depth understanding of coating quality processes, ensuring compliance with industry and customer specifications through accurate measurement, documentation, and process oversight. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Duties & Responsibilities Quality Assurance & Inspection:
- Ensure adherence to Acadian Contractors, Inc. (ACI), customer, and manufacturer procedures and specifications.
- Effectively communicate coating requirements to team leads, blasters, painters, and customer inspectors.
- Conduct inspections at all stages of the blasting and coating process, from surface preparation to final Dry Film Thickness (DFT) readings.
- Verify coating personnel qualifications and compliance with project requirements.
- Ensure all blasting and coating materials align with project drawings and specifications.
- Record batch report numbers and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for coating materials and submit them to the Quality Department.
- Monitor and maintain traceability of materials entering and leaving the coating area.
- Perform and document blast profile readings, wet and dry coating millage readings, and environmental readings per project specifications.
- Ensure inspection and documentation requirements for Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and Traveler records are met.
- Conduct final quality checks and verify documentation before equipment is transferred from the coating area.
Compliance & Process Improvement:
- Participate in pre-job and project kickoff meetings as needed.
- Identify and report recurring quality, accuracy, or workmanship issues to the Division Manager for corrective action.
- Ensure inspection tools requiring calibration are maintained and comply with required timeframes.
- Flag and document work stoppages or hold points as necessary and authorize the resumption of work after resolution.
- Maintain a professional and customer-focused attitude while representing ACI.
Qualifications & Requirements Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience & Certifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in quality inspection of blasting and coating processes for piping and structural materials.
- NACE Coating Inspector Level 2 preferred.
- Minimum NACE Coating Inspector Level 1 required with the expectation to obtain Level 2 certification.
