Working on the HSFTIC contract in the Information Technology IT Operations group supporting the ISS, Orion, and Gateway programs at the Johnson Space Center. Responsible for cross training lower-level database administrators and providing expert database administration support to the contract. Responsible for installing, configuring, and supporting all Oracle and MSSQL databases across development, integration, and production environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for cross training lower-level database administrators and providing expert database administration support to the contract.
  • Responsible for installing, configuring, and supporting all Oracle and MSSQL databases across development, integration, and production environments.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in managing Oracle databases versions on Linux systems including scripting and tuning
  • Experience managing Oracle, RAC, and Active Data Guard in an enterprise environment
  • Experience managing development, integration, and production databases
  • Experience with administration of MSSQL Server, Oracle, and other enterprise databases on various OS versions
  • Experience troubleshooting databases and related infrastructure and engaging vendor support as needed
  • Experience in database monitoring and performance management
  • Experience in database restore and recovery efforts
  • Experience with troubleshooting all frontend and backend database performance issues both SQL and Oracle
  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or related field and 5 years of experience in program management, or operational leadership roles

Education:

  • A CS/CIS degree w/10-15 years of experience or a related technical degree or the equivalent of 10 years of related experience.
  • Must have a minimum 10 years as a Database Administrator.
