Summary of Job Duties:The Video Producer provides professional and technical support for The David and Barbara Pryor Center for Arkansas Oral and Visual History with the goal of strengthening a significant program to collect and preserve the oral and visual heritage of the state of Arkansas. The Video Producer will be responsible for recording interviews and editing programs for the Pryor Center. The job duties will include, but will not be limited to, participating in audio and video recording sessions and events which may require travel; editing projects, interviews, and programs using Final Cut Pro 7 and Final Cut Pro X; operating the audio/video studio control room; and assisting the Pryor Center SAN network administrator in maintaining the digital video archive and up-to-date database of all audio/video materials. The Video Producer will recommend software and hardware upgrades and ideas for refining post-production processes and will assist with the completion and distribution of finished products and the development of distribution templates and processes.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degreefrom an accredited institution of higher education conferred by the time of appointment

  • At least two years of experience producing/directing/recording/editing eventproductions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in broadcast journalism, media, orvideoproduction

  • Extensive experiencewithproduction equipment and associated technologies

  • Postproduction experience withFinal Cut Pro X, Compressor and Motion

  • Live-event production experience, including familiarity with streamingtechnology

  • Experience working with students and supervising student projects

  • Graphics/motiondesign experience

  • Experience and/or knowledge of a SAN environment, networking fundamentals and terminology

  • Experience and/or knowledge of website development/maintenance and social media platforms

  • Experience and/or knowledge of data and file management

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals and terminology

  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite

  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Lightroom, Audition and Bridge specifically)

  • Operational-level skills in vision mixing, live audio and event lighting

  • Operational-level skills in video production and post-production

  • Ability to communicate information and ideas effectively

  • Ability to color correct image and video files

  • Ability to edit/mix audio

  • An understanding of a podcast environment, including, but not limited to, knowledge of podcast audio editing and podcasting equipment.

  • Ability to work in adverse environmental conditions (staff can be exposed to unfavorable conditions anytime they are recording interviews on location due to loading and unloading vehicles/set up and strike production equipment regardless of the weather)

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds

  • Ability to push 300 pounds on a cart
