This position is located in the Office of Acquisition Management (OAM), within Savannah the Department of Energy Savannah River Operations Office (DOE-SR) at the Savannah River Site (SRS) in Aiken, SC. This position will provide labor and technical expertise for receipt and delivery operations and the management of government property and prior experience with asset management is highly preferred.
Asset Management Specialist services
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and site procedures including DOE Order DOE O 580.1A, the DOE-SR Government Owned Personal Property Management Program Manual, and the M&O Contractor's 3B Asset Management Manual.
- Provide AMS receiving and delivery services for DOE-SR, National Nuclear Security Administration, other Federal employees, and the DOE-SR direct support service contractors located at SRS.
- Receiving/inspecting deliveries of ordered government property;
- Posting and data entry into the site Asset Management Information System (AMIS);
- Inspecting and inventory Government property per invoice comparison (including materials, equipment, and locally purchased office supplies);
- Apply appropriate labels and Government tags on equipment and supplies
- Issue and/or arrange for the delivery of property to end-users;
- Conducting inventory control and validation
- Execute Balanced Scorecard requirements
- Turning in control, acceptance, and process requirements and disposing of excess assets.
- Perform property pass functions (manual or automated).
- Maintain the DOE property account within the site database system including all accountability documents from acquisition through disposal.
- Identify excess AMS account property and screen DOE-SR purchase requisitions against Federal excess lists, local excess, excess yard, and furniture warehouse.
- Ensure any equipment held for future use is kept within established guidelines.
- Coordinate with the DOE information technology and property organizations to maintain inventory within established guidelines.
- Establish and maintain a current desktop operating procedure identifying requirements and methods of operation.
- Perform all necessary steps to dispose of Government property as directed. This includes:
- Arranging for the disposition of excess property in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies
- Providing reports and documentation to Task Manager.
- Maintain records in accordance with the Records Inventory Disposal Schedule.
- Ensure compliance with all safety requirements and good industry housekeeping practices.

Correspondence and Inventory Management:
- Provide weekly updates for active property related issues older than ten days.
- Prepare monthly activity reports and other periodic reports.
- Participate in reviews/audits conducted by DOE-SR Property Management, DOE-HQ, and DOE-SR Safety Inspections.
- Plan and conduct physical inventories of all property listed in the DOE-SR AMS account and validate data in coordination with site property management.
- Conduct and document monthly self-assessments, walkthroughs, and periodic inventories.

Education |
- High School Diploma is required.

Experience |
- Receipt and delivery of property within a large organization is preferred.

License, Cert or Registration |
- Current driver's license required.
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or authorization to work in the U.S.
- Must be able to obtain a U.S government security clearance enabling access to various government facilities.

- Knowledge of asset management systems is preferred.

- Must be able to prepare written reports and other documents that are accurate, coherent, grammatically correct, effective, and professional.
- Must be able to speak/communicate effectively to individuals in person, on the telephone, or via e-mail.
- Must have experience and understanding of correspondence management, data collection, and office software.
