Location:Lee Health -2776 Cleveland AveFort Myers FL 33901 Department: Radiology - Pet Scan Work Type: Full Time Shift: Shift 1/7:00:00 AM to 3:30:00 PM Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate:$35.17 - $45.73 / hour SummaryThe PET/CT Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for the safe operation of a PET/CT Scanner to perform PET/CT exams for diagnosing and staging of pathology. Screens, explains procedure to, and prepares patients for PET/CT exams. Exercises judgment to assess and respond to patients needs prior to, during and after visits to the PET/CT department. Adheres to departmental policies and state regulations in receipt, preparation, calculation, identification, documentation, administration, disposal, storage, and safe handling of radiopharmaceuticals. Performs and records daily quality control procedures on equipment to ensure correct and accurate operations of the equipment under the guidance of the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO). Utilizes appropriate standards following imaging protocols and techniques to ensure high quality diagnostic images are obtained. Evaluates and maintains a quality control program for instrumentation to ensure quality and reliability. Demonstrates knowledge of safety-related work behaviors to ensure safe job performance and the maintenance of a safe work environment as an integral part of the quality of patient care services. Works closely with Radiation Safety Officer to ensure safe practices and to minimize radiation exposure to the patient, general public and health care personnel consistent with the ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable) concept. Maintains a clean, well-stocked work area. Maintains accurate patient records within Epic. Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements. Performs and records daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly quality control procedures on PET/CT equipment to ensure compliance with ACR. Participates in staff orientation and training. RequirementsEducation: Graduation from Accredited Nuclear Medicine Program or acceptable equivalent schooling. Experience: Minimum of six (6) months of experience as PET Technologist is preferred. Certifications: NMTCB or ARRT (N) and BLS certifications are required. License: State of Florida Certified Radiological Technologist (CRT) license. ARRT Registered and/or CNMT Certified.
