Job Summary

The Loan Quality Control Specialist will review all new and renewal loans post boarding and funding, for approval, completeness and accuracy including but not limited to Consumer, CRE, C&I, Participation, Syndication and Small Business. Performs a wide variety of tasks related to quality control servicing of loans according to established policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines thus ensuring overall quality and integrity of the Bank's Loan portfolio. Activities require knowledge of credit approvals, loan documentation and loan systems.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities



  • Responsible for understanding highly complex commercial and consumer loan products and documentation which can include receipt of loan application through preparation of closing loan documents, funding and boarding on core system.
  • Performs the quality control function at the loan level for new loans and the maintenance on loan modifications/renewals. Ensuring they are properly translated into the Core system according to the loan documentation and approval.
  • Review daily reports to ensure loan maintenance are accurate and conformance to Bank policy and procedures.
  • Review daily, weekly, and monthly exception reports and coordinates the corrections if needed.
  • Review exceptions from 3rd party vendors and monitors for corrections (ex: iLien).
  • Review of HMDA reportable loans.
  • Accurate processing of loan documents for while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations (RESPA, REG Z, TRID, HOEPA, HPML, FLOOD, FACTA, REG B, HMDA, Fair Credit, etc.)
  • Interact with clients, external centers of influence, and other support areas of the Bank via telephone, email, and in person to provide superior service.
  • Handle routine inquires and client service issue promptly
  • Continual mindfulness of process improvement opportunities
  • Perform other duties and assist with special projects for the bank as assigned.


Experience Needed:



  • 5+ years of commercial servicing, operations, or similar banking background
  • Knowledge and understanding of C&I / commercial real estate loan documentation and structure.
  • Knowledge and understanding of legal language included in Commercial Loan Agreements, Notes, Guaranty Agreements, and Entity documents including entity structure.
  • LaserPro and Jack Henry experience preferred
  • SBA knowledge preferred


Education, Licensure & Certification Needed:



  • High School Diploma or its equivalent is required.
  • Post-secondary education preferred.

  • Basic mastery and commitment to the continuous development of personal performance around the job-specific and competencies necessary for this role.
  • The ability to effectively work both independently as a contributor and collaboratively in a team is required.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written); the ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to learn the core banking system and maintain working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized while focusing on work quality.
  • Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of bank products and services.
  • Knowledge of bank organizational structure, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Desire to provide excellent client service with a consultative approach.
  • Strong ability to maintain confidentiality.


The expected starting range for this role is $27.00-$34.00 per hour. Compensation decisions will be based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and education, which may determine where within the range the starting pay will fall.
