POSITION
SUMMARY:

The Project Engineer 2 assists and supports the Project Manager on assigned projects. The
position works under direct supervision, performs routine daily activities, and
gathers and distributes information. The Project Engineer 2 must be a flexible
and adaptable team player and have strong communication and client service
skills.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Setup initial
    contracts and project information
  • Coordinate
    various trades
  • Resolving design
    coordination issues
  • Receive, review,
    forward, and track the status of submittals
  • Oversee &
    manage the RFI process
  • Assist in the management
    of the project permit process
  • Assist in
    preparations of bid packages and procurement
  • Identify long
    lead items and establish procurement priorities
  • Update
    construction schedule based on project team input, Trade Contractor
    progress, and materials delivery
  • Change
    management systems, including soliciting, receiving, reviewing, and
    preparing quotations and change orders
  • Track and
    inspect material deliveries
  • Assists with
    reports regarding the financial performance of the
    project
  • Assist in the preparation
    of monthly owner project status reports, as required
  • Attend and/or lead
    project meetings, as directed by the Project Manager
  • Oversee timely
    distribution and accurate recording of all meeting
    minutes
  • Assist and/or
    complete project close-out
  • Communicate and
    enforce Manhattan's environmental, health, and safety management
    policies
  • Demonstrate
    commitment to an Injury-free environment through own actions and mentoring
    others
  • Assist in the
    review of Subcontractor monthly payment applications
  • Assist in
    coordinating punch list items and procedures
  • Perform quality
    control inspections & oversee QPL process log
  • Oversee
    project-specific integration of quality, closeout, photo documentation,
    & procurement technology software
  • Responsible
    for conducting themselves in accordance with our Guiding Principles and
    exhibiting attributes matching the Way We Work.
  • Other duties as assigned

JOB
SKILLS & ABILITIES GUIDELINES:

  • Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office, Procore, & Bluebeam products
  • Knowledge of Manhattan document control and scheduling software
  • Broad understanding of industry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic math/accounting skills
  • Functions effectively as part of a team
  • Dependability
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times
  • Ability to understand and follow directions
  • Time management skills and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to train and mentor team members
  • Ability to read drawings and specifications for all trades/scopes

MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree- Construction Management, Engineering, equivalent degree, or 2 years of industry experience.

WORKING
CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS:

  • You must be adaptable to all types of weather conditions and traverse and inspect all areas of a construction job site, including walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
  • Ability to physically stand, bend, sit for long periods, and squat throughout the day.
  • Ability to repeat the same movements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to participate fully in meetings, video conferences, and phone calls.
  • Ability to compose, send, and reply to emails and written correspondence.
  • Must be able to lift, pull, or move up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Travel may be required occasionally, primarily in the metropolitan area but sometimes domestically (must have a valid Driver's License).
  • Exposure to characteristic construction site hazards.
