Description:

The DevSecOps Engineer for Iron Bank (IB) plays a pivotal role in implementing secure DevSecOps practices across DoD environments. This role involves the development, deployment, and management of secure, hardened containerized applications while ensuring compliance with Iron Bank and DoD security standards.

  • Design, implement, and manage DevSecOps pipelines for Iron Bank container repositories.
  • Automate the container hardening and deployment process to streamline compliance with Iron Bank standards.
  • Develop, maintain, and deploy secure containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Integrate container security solutions (e.g., Twistlock, Aqua) to identify vulnerabilities and improve container security posture.
  • Perform CVE scanning and vulnerability testing specific to Iron Bank containers.
  • Build and deploy applications into Kubernetes environments, ensuring secure configurations and deployment models.
  • Leverage service mesh tools (e.g., Istio) to optimize Kubernetes orchestration and networking.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Spinnaker, or other automation platforms.
  • Ensure pipeline integrity and security by embedding DevSecOps principles at every stage.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for DevSecOps implementations and workflows.
  • Collaborate with Iron Bank teams to ensure alignment with DoD security requirements and provide technical support for escalations.
  • Use cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) to deploy and manage containerized workloads.
  • Optimize deployment processes for scalability and security within multi-cloud environments.
  • Define and track key performance metrics for Iron Bank container hardening and pipeline efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts by recommending updates to Iron Bank tools, policies, and practices.
  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps or DevSecOps engineering with expertise in containerization.
  • Advanced skills in Docker, Kubernetes, and container security tools (e.g., Twistlock, Aqua).
  • Experience with service mesh tools (e.g., Istio) and Kubernetes networking.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Spinnaker, or Jenkins.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, and Azure.
  • Strong understanding of DoD security standards and container vulnerability testing.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
