TITLE Senior Bus Driver JOB SUMMARY Operates university vehicles to provide local and long-distance transportation, driving shuttle bus and motor coach, for individuals or groups of students, faculty, staff and other authorized passengers from campus to and from approved destinations, including remote parking lots. Communicates details of the trip with supervisor, individual being transported and/or assigned chaperone, such as verifying pick-up and drop-off locations, departure times, lodging/dining arrangements and possible changes. Responsible for ensuring pre and post-trip inspection of as well as correcting deficiencies as able. Must inspect and maintain all fluid levels, to include fueling, as well as ensuring all systems operations are in order before departures and upon return at the end of shift or trip. Must ensure that the vehicle is clean and all loads are secured properly in order to maintain safety at all times. Position is not M-F, but scheduled to fit transportation needs of the University. Weekends and overnight trips are frequent. Work is performed under general supervision. Work is reviewed for overall results obtained and evaluated by a merit based program within the University Staff Performance Evaluation System. EDUCATION High school diploma or equivalent required. EXPERIENCE Two years minimum experience transporting passengers in 30 passenger bus or larger. REQUIREMENT Must possess current Class A Commercial Driver's License with passenger (P) endorsement and air brake restriction removed. Must possess a safe driving record and be able to attain Driver's Authorization through Texas Woman's University upon employment. Must submit and pass all required DOT pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug and alcohol screens. Regular and reliable attendance at the University during regular scheduled days and work hours is an essential function of this position.
