Schedule: 7AM-3PM or 9AM-5PM

37.5 Hours per week

No weekends required

The Medical Imaging Support Specialist answers the telephone, greets outpatients, schedules and gives out proper preps for these exams. It is the specialist responsibility to type the daily schedule, maintain exam logs, notify patients of exam times, and perform other duties, as requested by the Director of Medical Imaging. The Department Specialist will enter orders, perform film releases, and assist the Director with insurance and billing issues.
Primary Customer Served:No direct patient care.

Education and Training Required:

High school graduate or equivalent.

Experience:

Requires basic computer skills.

Previous hospital/medical experience desirable.

Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Good verbal/written communication skills.

Ability to greet patients/staff courteously and respectfully with positive interpersonal skills.

Ability to function competently and effectively during periods of stress.

Ability to work with a minimum of direct supervision.

Ability to use computers, and fax machines, and possess proper phone skills.
