As a Staff Accountant at Journey Group, you will play a vital role in supporting the preparation of month-end reporting, maintaining the general ledger, and assisting in the completion of the company's transactional accounting functions. Your essential duties will include performing general accounting tasks in alignment with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), managing assigned close responsibilities like journal entries and reconciliations, and conducting research to resolve issues and variances. You will also contribute to the annual external audit and tax audits while verifying the payment of invoices and ensuring accurate account charges. To thrive in this position, you'll foster strong relationships with your team members, all while enhancing your professional skills through workshops and networking opportunities.

To thrive as a Staff Accountant at Journey Group, you'll need a blend of education and experience, including an associate's degree in business administration, accounting, or a related field, coupled with at least one year of relevant accounting experience. Key skills for success in this role include strong data entry and mathematical abilities, as well as attention to detail for accurate analysis of information. A customer-focused mindset, professionalism, and the capacity to foster effective interpersonal relationships are vital.

You should also be adept at managing multiple tasks while adhering to strict deadlines. Independent thinking and problem-solving skills will empower you to tackle challenges as they arise. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential, and experience with Vista by Viewpoint is preferred.
