Certified Medical Assistant - Waukee Family Med

Waukee, Iowa

Full-time Benefit Package

Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm

**$5,000.00 Sign-on Bonus for external candidates!


Responsibilities

We are looking for a Certified Medical Assistant to join our Family Medicine Clinic. The ideal candidate will be passionate about patient care and possess strong clinical and administrative skills. You will play a key role in assisting physicians, managing patient flow, and ensuring a positive experience for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Rooming: Greet patients, escort them to examination rooms, and prepare them for their visit.
  • Vital Signs and Measurements: Accurately measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and weight.
  • Patient History: Obtain and document patient medical histories, current medications, allergies, and any other pertinent information.
  • Clinical Assistance: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations, procedures, and treatments.
  • Patient Education: Provide patients with basic information regarding their health, medications, and any follow-up care instructions.
  • Specimen Collection: Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, including blood draws, urine samples, and swabs, following proper protocols.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist with scheduling appointments, answering phones, and managing patient records in the electronic health records (EHR) system.

Qualifications
  • Current Certification as a Medical Assistant. Graduate of an accredited program or apprenticeship program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
