As Advanced Application Engineer Asphalt, you work with key players and industrial collaboration partners to shape and maintain asphalt testing standards with rheology and other methods. You will report to the Lead Scientist Rheology. This position is based at the Advanced Technical Services Center in Ashland, VA.

The base salary range for this position is $80,300/year to $90,900/year and depends on related experience. Compensation additionally includes a bonus. Anton Paar USA offers full benefits and a profit sharing contribution to your 401k retirement savings. We offer a $10,000 anniversary bonus every five years plus additional bonus opportunities.

Responsibilities include:

Representing Anton Paar's technology and interests a industry meetings including TRB, AMAP, PARC, and others.
• Active participation in asphalt related groups including ASTM, AASHTO, and others
• Conducting, evaluating, and presenting workshops and measurements related to asphalt.
• Researching and identifying market opportunities through work with industry groups
• Travel (40%-60%, including overnight) e.g. for meetings, demonstrations, and workshops.

Skills and qualifications you will need:

• 2-3 years of experience working with standards and thought leaders in the asphalt industry.
• Exceptional communications and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently, result-oriented and initiate
• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or materials science.
• Valid driver's license and passport.
