Base Compensation Range: $90,000-$120,000 *In addition, you qualify for:

* Commission target of 70% at 100% to plan

Gyros Protein Technologies provides automated systems for protein analysis and peptide synthesis solutions that accelerate the discovery, development, and manufacture of biotherapeutic drugs.

Job Summary:

The Regional Sales Manager - Southeast is customer-oriented, and the primary responsibilities involves capital equipment and consumable sales as well as account and relationship development in assigned target markets for assigned Gyros Protein Technologies portfolio. This position will be responsible for Gyros Protein Technologies' Immunoassay solutions, associated consumables, and service.

This position is remote with the preferred location being North Carolina.

Duties/Responsibilities:



  • Develop and execute strategies to achieve target sales/revenue quota
  • Provide accurate forecast information for the business
  • Manage existing customer relationships and identify new opportunities to build sales pipeline; lead generating activities may include cold calling and trade show attendance
  • Visit customers, understand their needs and match assigned GPT products to those needs
  • Successfully position products to meet customer needs in a competitively differentiated fashion; effectively communicate value proposition to minimize discounting
  • Manage sales funnel process (identify, contact, present, negotiate, close) and record activities, opportunities, contacts etc. in the company CRM system.
  • Work within a team environment to collate materials for the customer including technical data and ensure there is a line of communication with the applications team
  • Use strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain customer relationships & demonstrate the concept of key account management
  • Attendance at key conferences, trade shows and symposia, when required
  • Report projected sales using company templates in a timely and accurate manner
  • Generation of detailed assigned region-wide and assigned-account wide maps to ensure a focused business approach to the markets
  • Contribute to marketing and application development activities
  • Communicate market trends, industry news, product information and ideas to marketing
  • Create and utilize effective presentations to win business
  • Stay updated on all relevant procedures and processes (SOP's) linked to the role as defined by GPT. The employee is also responsible to report back to management if these processes need to be updated.
  • Report and document relevant information on customer activity in information managements systems and to other functions within Sales & Marketing department.
  • Maintain CRM system records
  • Other tasks as assigned by senior management


Education/Experience:



  • A minimum of a BSc. degree in Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Molecular Biotechnology, life sciences or similar.
  • Previous capital sales experience in life sciences, preferably 3+ years in Life Sciences , analytical platforms, and/or development of biological drug
  • Demonstrated record of accomplishment and scholastic aptitude


Knowledge and Skills Required:



  • Excellent in at least one applicable local language and when appropriate English language skills both oral and written. Additional languages are a plus.
  • Drive & dedication to become an expert on company products, customer needs, and market competition
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; person in this role will be able to clearly communicate complex information to customers and colleagues
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work with a global team and customers with a wide range of backgrounds.
  • Ability to operate at all levels within the customer base to effect change, demonstrate credibility and trusted vendor status to guide customers through new technology acquisition and success.
  • Highly motivated and self-directed, capable of managing a wide range of responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Flexibility and ability to travel extensively within the assigned region, optionally internationally, including valid passport
  • Good communication and computer skills.
  • Capable of multi-tasking and establishing strong working relationships
  • Experience with customer support
  • Strong follow up skills as proven by good customer relationships
  • Good intercultural and social skills with ability to work in a team
