Background: Bloomberg Philanthropies' Greenwood Initiative is a first-of-its-kind portfolio founded in 2020 with a mission to accelerate intergenerational Black wealth and address systemic underinvestment in Black communities. The portfolio invests in opportunities for Black people to acquire resources, expand community ownership, and increase influence through economic power. The Position: We are seeking a Program Manager to join our Greenwood Initiative team and manage key aspects of our portfolio. The Initiative explores investments across a broad frame: furthering life expectancy, health, and wellbeing; asset protection and institution building; and, strengthening communities and resiliency in the face of shocks. Reporting to the Greenwood Initiative lead, you will oversee investments and partnerships where we have launched programming as well as establishing relationships and implementing strategies with new partners. You'll monitor and ensure success of program initiatives and provide strategic guidance for program expansion and scale. You'll be a "thought partner" to grantees and partners, helping to solve problems and drive project success. You will also help to advise and conceive the development of new strategies and leading efforts to assess program performance, promoting learning and continuous improvement, and ensuring robust data collection for internal understanding and external communications. The role is based full-time in New York City and will require periodic US domestic travel to partner convenings, site visits, and conferences with peer institutions.
