Senior Credit Representative
Yarde Metals is looking for a senior credit representative to join the credit team.
Responsibilities
A senior credit representative is responsible for analyzing data and company financial information to establish the credit worthiness and payment terms for new accounts. They are also responsible for creating and implementing strategies to collect on overdue accounts.
- Analyze customer account financials, payment history, sales/profit, future sales potential, and previous collection efforts to establish lines of credit, payment terms, and credit-holds.
- Collaborate with sales and managers on the financial disposition, credit terms, collections efforts, debt payments, and order status of customer accounts.
- Analyze and monitor aging reports to prioritize collection efforts.
- Contact customers to collect payments due and address damage claims and non-payable checks.
- Record information on collection efforts and the customer's financial status.
- Accurately reconcile and adjust account debits, credits, and invoices.
- Collaborate with third-party collection agencies on the status of accounts and issue demand letters.
- Assist the credit manager with implementation of policies, procedures, and programs.
- Make field calls with outside sales representatives.
- Provide guidance and training to less experienced collectors and staff associates.
- Maintain working knowledge of relevant credit and collections regulations, concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as instructed by manager.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- College degree in related field strongly preferred.
- Five years of work experience directly related to the duties of the position at a senior level.
- Proven record of handling large account portfolios.
- Exceptional verbal, written, platform, and interpersonal skills.
- Professional, tactful, and strong negotiation skills.
- Thorough understanding of accounting principles.
- Ability to analyze data to make sound financial decisions.
- Intermediate level Excel skills required.
