How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Carrier Gas Operations provides on-site air separation units producing nitrogen and oxygen gas production with best-in-class safety, reliability, flexibility and total cost of operation to our semiconductor manufacturing customers. Also supplying cost effective high purity bulk gas.

The Malta NY Gas Plant maintenance technician is responsible for the upkeep of mechanical equipment at the plant facility including compressors, turbines, pumps, cooling towers, etc including installation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, testing, project management, and corrective maintenance.

  • Work to achieve zero personal first aids/injuries.

  • Comply with all Air Liquide Policies & Procedures.

  • Comply with Safe Work Permit Process including preparing Pre-Job Plans, executing LOTOs, hot work safety, and confined space safety.

  • Managing preventative maintenance programs for mechanical equipment including pumps, compressors, and more including maintaining records in the CMMS program.

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment including taking corrective and preventative actions to improve plant or machine performance.

  • Manage mechanical projects from project scoping to implementation including preparing scope of work, bidding out projects to contractors, scheduling, and overseeing contractor quality of work.

  • Manage mechanical spare parts program.

  • Manage site waste management program.

  • Assist other crafts as needed.

  • Assist with plant operations as needed.

  • Participate in the plant's operational on-call rotation.

  • Requirements

  • Familiar with pipefitter and millwright terminology and technical knowledge of materials such as gaskets, valves, fittings, and piping.

  • Familiar with rotating machinery including compressors, pumps, and turbines.

  • Familiar with safe work practices, procedures, and other safety requirements

  • Expertise in operation of the following equipment - Forklift and JLG

  • Ability to work callouts, nights, weekends, & possible holidays as needed.

  • Has full range of motion and ability to lift 50 lbs.

  • Able to climb ladders and work off elevated platforms/surfaces.

  • Able to work in a non-conditioned environment for extended periods.

  • Able to enter confined spaces for inspection, testing and work.

  • Able to wear appropriate PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, FRC, and steel toed shoes.

  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

The pay rate for this position in New York is $30.00-$35.00
