Base Compensation Range: $70,000-$75,000 *In addition, you qualify for:

* Annual bonus opportunity of 10% based on company performance

Job Summary:

The Senior Research Associate that supports our Clinical Genomics business has responsibility for planning, organizing, and executing service and feasibility studies. Additionally, making detailed observations, analyzing data, interpreting results, and maintaining records according to prescribed standards. Lastly, collaborating with and support ATS team members.

Duties/Responsibilities:



  • Perform experiments under direct supervision according to departmental needs for particular area of Applications Development or R&D (e.g. assay development, sample extraction, feasibility studies, stability studies, genetic analyses, etc.)
  • Execute studies by following written instructions
  • Analyze and interpret study results under guidance of supervisor
  • Operate standard laboratory instrumentation
  • Assist in ordering lab supplies
  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment
  • Maintain lab in accordance with regulatory and safety practices
  • Draft documentation summarizing studies for others within organization
  • Design and implement new methods or steps in protocols, consulting literature for new ideas if necessary


Education/Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry or bioinformatics
  • Experience with biochemistry techniques including mass spectrometry
  • 5 - 7 years related experience


Knowledge and Skills Required:



  • Proficient with organization, documentation, and communication
  • Knowledge in DOE and statistical data analysis tools
  • Knowledge in bioinformatics
  • Experience with DNA diagnostic techniques including PCR amplification
  • Experience with assay development for clinical diagnostics
  • Experience with liquid handling robots
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office including word and excel
  • Use professional concepts in accordance with company objectives to solve complex problems; works on complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of factors; exercises independent judgment to determine methods and procedures on new assignments; may provide guidance to lower levels
  • Use professional concepts to contribute to development of company's concepts and principles; works on extremely complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variables; acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments; may provide guidance and oversee activities to lower levels
