Overview:

Performs secretarial, clerical and receptionist duties under the direction of the Business Manager- Surgical Services. Accurately schedules procedures and appointments for all perioperative locations. Accurately enters charges and posts charts for all perioperative locations. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Job Description:

- Accurately schedules procedures and appointments for all perioperative locations according to physician's individual procedure guidelines and facility time constraints. Coordinates with other departments for cases that require their participation. Communicates with Supervisors regarding add on cases or changes to surgical schedule or times. Prints and dispenses copies of surgical schedule as requested. Maintains calendar of surgeon block releases.

- Responsible for billing for all OP Time locations, Main OR CVOR, Endoscopy and Non OR which includes procedure time charging, charge router/charge entry for supplies, infusion times and posting of charts. Validates all billing levels. Gets cost for bill only supplies and figures charge based on ministry markup. Follows process to acquire Lawson numbers and IC-12s as needed.

- Monitors and manages EPIC work queues.

- Monitors and manages EPIC work queues and other projects as requested.

- Must have experience with use of Medical Terminology.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Licensure: None.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years' secretarial experience. Excellent computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Other skills & knowledge (skills, knowledge, abilities): Good organizational skills. Good customer service skills.
