Welder I - 100 - 2nd Shift

Position Description

Performs a variety of basic welding in all positions to ensure components are being welded to engineered specifications.

    Job Responsibilities

    1. Sets welding machine voltage and wire speed for proper fusion of metals following standard work methods and detailed drawings.
    2. Welds assemblies to engineering specifications
    3. Performs basic maintenance of welding equipment to ensure proper working order.
    4. Inspects weldments for obvious defects such as but not limited to: weld spatter, rough welds, missing welds and sharp corners/edges.
    5. Performs other duties as assigned

      Job Skills Requirements

      • Basic reading, writing and math skills. Basic blueprint reading preferred.
      • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

          • High School diploma

          Experience Requirements

          Previous experince preferred

            Certifications Preferred

              Physical & Environmental Requirements

              • Moderate physical demand; often lifting/moving average weight (25 to 50 lbs/11-27 kgs), and occasionally lifting heavy weight materials (up to 70 lbs)
              • Ability to stand and/or walk constantly over a full work shift (8-12 hours)
              • Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours)
              • Somewhat disagreeable or hazardous conditions.
