POSITION SUMMARY:

The ideal candidate will have a background in production deployed autonomous robots using the ROS2 system. We are looking for candidates who have a desire to learn and innovate in a fast-paced environment to help improve our robotic platform.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Solve challenging navigation, planning, localization, mapping problems for autonomous robotic platforms.

* Mentor and guide junior developers using experience and code reviews.

* Provide technical leadership in the areas of expertise to help make decisions to improve the robotic platform.

* Work with a cross-functional team of engineers to integrate sensors, actuators, and other peripherals.

* Optimize robotic applications for performance, reliability, and scalability.

* Stay current with industry trends and advancements in robotics and ROS2.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* M.S. or a Ph.D. in Robotics Engineering, Computer Science, or a relevant field who has a strong ROS2 and software engineering background with a knowledge of modern software engineering best practices.

* 5+ years of software development experience using modern C++ (C++11, C++14, C++17).

* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn.

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

* Experience using Linux as a development environment.

REQUIRED:

* Production experience deploying autonomous robots using ROS2.

DESIRABLE:

* Computer vision localization experience; Visual SLAM; 3D LiDAR.

* Familiarity with simulation tools like Gazebo.

* Experience developing software using Python or Go.
