SummaryDevelops, implements, and maintains technical quality assurance and control systems and activities. Defines and specifies the implementation of standards, methods, and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision, accuracy, and reliability of company products. Participates in the reviewing of engineering designs to contribute quality requirements and considerations. Assists product support areas in gathering and analyzing data. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Job Description

Performs all required management responsibilities including but not limited to: implementing the company's policies, programs, and guidelines; ensuring employee productivity and growth; managing resources; knowing Varex's business; and maintaining functional, technical, and external market awareness necessary for managing immediate organization.

Experience Level with Business Tools

  • Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired.

LEVEL DESCRIPTION

Scope

  • Establishes operational objectives and work plans; often delegates assignments to subordinate managers. Senior management reviews objectives to determine success of operation. Involved in developing, modifying and executing company policies for immediate and related areas of the organization that may have company-wide effect.

Job Complexity

  • Works on issues where analysis of situation or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives. Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, works plans and performance requirements.

Interaction

  • Regularly interacts with senior management levels on matters concerning one or more functional areas and/or customers. Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationship.

Supervision

  • Manages activities of two or more sections or departments through subordinate managers who exercise full supervision in terms of costs, methods, and staffing. In some instances this manager may be responsible for managing staff without subordinate managers. Is responsible to develop reporting managers.

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent
  • 7+ years of related experience
  • 5+ years of management experience
